Journeyman Mechanic

Seeking a Journeyman Mechanic to maintain delivery vehicles, heavy-duty tractors, and trailers with various propulsion systems (diesel, gasoline, CNG, LNG, propane, hybrid, electric). Responsibilities include troubleshooting and maintaining hydraulic brakes, air brakes, electrical systems, and engine controls, meeting D.O.T. requirements, and operating diagnostic equipment.

What you'd actually do

  1. Meets D.O.T requirements required by job assignment
  2. Bends, stoops, squats, kneels, crouches, crawls, climbs ladders and stairs, stands, walks, and turns/pivots frequently throughout duration of workday
  3. Sits infrequently, as required, throughout duration of workday
  4. Exercises simple hand grasping, power hand grasping, fine hand manipulation, and reaching from foot level to above shoulder level as necessary to complete assigned tasks
  5. Operates standard and manual transmission
  6. Operates power and pneumatic tools

Skills

Required

  • active driver’s license
  • 21 years or older
  • willing to work Monday to Friday, night shift
  • required hand tools
  • Class A/B or A Commercial Driver's License (CDL)
  • Current documented Journeyman Mechanic experience - at least 5 years of experience in the automotive or diesel field
  • Experience using diagnostic equipment, scan tools and personal computer

Nice to have

  • Hands-on experience in dealership, mobile repair, or fleet environments
  • Formal technical education
  • Dependable with ability to report to work on a regular and timely basis and complete scheduled workday on a consistent basis
  • Available to work varying shifts, additional hours and/or overtime depending on service needs

What the JD emphasized
