About the Role
The Merchant Onboarding & Compliance Specialist plays a critical role in ensuring that all merchants onboarded through our sales channels are fully compliant with Uber’s documentation, structural, and regulatory requirements.
This role is responsible for managing and optimizing a BPO operation dedicated to auditing merchant submissions, ensuring accuracy, and maintaining the integrity of our onboarding process. As a key link between Compliance, Sales, and BPO, this role requires sharp organization, strong stakeholder management, and a proactive mindset.

What you'll do:
- Manage and oversee the Doc Check (Compliance) BPO operation, ensuring efficiency, accuracy, and adherence to regional compliance standards.
- Own and continuously improve the auditing and merchant documentation processes, ensuring all onboarding meets Uber’s internal guidelines and legal requirements.
- Collaborate closely with Sales, Ops, Legal, Compliance, and regional teams to understand evolving business needs and adapt workflows accordingly.
- Standardize and align processes across countries, ensuring scalability and consistency in execution.
- Monitor and report on performance, identify operational gaps, and implement improvement initiatives that increase accuracy and efficiency.
- Maintain strong, ongoing communication with cross-functional and regional stakeholders to ensure alignment on compliance strategy and execution.
- Lead planning efforts and project initiatives to support continuous improvement, system updates, or changes in regulation.
- Act as the first line of defense in identifying risks or compliance failures, escalating issues appropriately and quickly.
Basic Qualifications
- 1+ years of experience in project management, especially in fast-paced or operational environments.
- Strong analytical skills with the ability to work with data, identify trends, and inform decision-making.
- Excellent stakeholder management abilities across cross-functional and multicultural teams.
- High attention to detail, process-oriented mindset, and ability to manage multiple moving parts simultaneously.
- Ability to work independently, take initiative, and drive results with minimal oversight.
- Proficiency in English
Preferred Qualifications
- Experience with BPO/vendor management
- Familiarity with compliance, documentation auditing, or operational
- Salesforce and SQL proficiency
- Project Management Certification
