Junior Network Security Engineer

Junior Network Security Engineer role focused on managing network devices, monitoring services, customer support, and ensuring gateway availability. Requires working 12-hour shifts on a 24/7 roster. What you'd actually do

  1. Manage network changes, including the preparation and implementation of changes on gateway devices.
  2. Configure network devices such as routers, firewalls, proxies, DNS servers, and load balancers.
  3. Resolve incidents by troubleshooting and diagnosing unintended network traffic issues with customers.
  4. Monitor health alerts generated by network systems and action them accordingly.
  5. Execute Service Desk functions, consisting of allocating and prioritizing tickets based on SLA.

Skills

Required

  • Bachelor's degree or one or more years of work experience
  • One year of work experience in IT or Networking
  • One year of work experience in Linux, DNS, Firewalls, F5, VMware, Proxies and Email Gateway appliances
  • One or more Industry certifications (Cisco, Checkpoint, Juniper, Palo Alto, Bluecoat, ITIL)
  • Active Baseline or NV1 Australian Security clearance
  • Willingness to work on a 24x7 rotating shift schedule, including weekends and public holidays

  • Secure Internet Gateway environments experience
  • Experience in Amazon Web Services (AWS)
  • Experience in various Coding and Scripting languages
