Lab Test Technician – Gpus & Servers (2nd Shift)

This role is for a Lab Test Technician at AMD, focusing on GPUs and Servers. The technician will be responsible for hands-on work with hardware components, including rack and stack assemblies, repairing semiconductor GPUs, switches, and CPUs, cabling management, and using X-ray scopes. The role involves supporting new GPU technology for AI infrastructure and performing diagnostics, troubleshooting, decommissioning hardware, and reliability testing. The position requires a collaborative and detail-oriented individual with experience in server racks and component-level repair.

What you'd actually do

  1. Manage server upgrades, integration, automated OS provisioning process, rebuilds and other projects as required, often working with Engineering and other teams
  2. Performs diagnostics and troubleshooting following standard procedures
  3. Decommission hardware for simple changes and refreshes
  4. Follow procedures to communicate, report, and escalate incidents to appropriate AMD Leadership
  5. Reliability Testing, including setting up and executing a variety of environmental and mechanical stress tests according to defined protocols (shock and vibration, EMCI, Temp Cycling and more)
