Latam Payroll Analyst

Zendesk is seeking a LATAM Payroll Analyst to join their Global Payroll department. The role involves coordinating payroll cycles, ensuring accurate and timely processing, providing customer service for payroll-related inquiries, assisting with audits and SOX compliance, and managing year-end activities. The ideal candidate will have 3+ years of full-cycle payroll processing experience in LATAM countries, experience with termination calculations, taxes, and local payroll regulations, and a background in accounting or finance. Strong Excel skills, communication, problem-solving, and customer service abilities are required. Experience in a high-growth tech company and with Workday is preferred. Fluency in Portuguese/Spanish and knowledge of Mexican legal requirements are a plus.

What you'd actually do

  1. Perform a variety of payroll functions in preparation, distribution, and reporting of payroll. Ensuring compliance with all applicable regulations.
  2. Ensure the accurate and timely end to end processing of payroll in LATAM region
  3. Provide prompt, friendly, and efficient customer service to employees who have questions regarding their pay, deductions, or the payroll process.
  4. Assist with all payroll related audits & SOX compliance by adhering to internal control requirements, maintaining updated documentation for all payroll related processes.
  5. Process and complete all year-end activities to ensure compliance with regard to filing reports, remittances and returns with appropriate tax authorities.

Skills

Required

  • 3+ years of full-cycle payroll processing in LATAM countries
  • Experience in termination Calculation, Holidays, Tax, e-Social, FGTS, INSS, IMSS, SURA, Infonavit, etc.
  • 3 years Accounting/Finance background or similar college diploma/degree
  • Current experience and in-depth knowledge of payroll systems and reporting functions
  • Intermediate to advanced Excel skills (VLOOKUPs, pivot tables, etc.)
  • Strong overall computer literacy
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills
