Meta is seeking a Law Enforcement Outreach Manager to build and maintain relationships with law enforcement agencies and government authorities, focusing on internet safety, high-risk harm mitigation, and security. The role involves educating authorities on privacy policies, responding to data requests, developing mitigation efforts, and managing tactical responses to events. It requires extensive experience in security, safety, or law enforcement within the private sector, with a focus on cybercrime, online investigations, and stakeholder program management.

What you'd actually do

  1. Develop and maintain effective, executive-level working relationships with law enforcement and government authorities
  2. Work closely with internal legal, investigative, policy, integrity, and communications teams on engagement with law enforcement authorities about online and Meta employee safety, key safety areas, security, and law enforcement issues
  3. Educate law enforcement authorities on our policies for protecting user privacy and responding to legal requests
  4. Work closely with Meta's legal and law enforcement response teams and outside counsel in responding to governmental requests for data
  5. Work with investigation teams to develop and refer relevant matters to law enforcement authorities

What the JD emphasized

  • 12+ years of extensive experience in a security, safety, or law enforcement role within the private sector
  • Experience with law enforcement agencies relating to requests for data
  • Experience in processing legal documents (e.g., civil and criminal subpoenas, court orders and search warrants)
  • Technical knowledge and experience related to cybercrime and online investigations
  • Demonstrated experience leading complex, multi-stakeholder programs with measurable outcomes
  • Proven ability to influence senior leaders and drive strategic decisions in ambiguous, high-stakes environments
  • Experience delivering presentations and communicating complex topics to technical and non-technical stakeholders
  • Experience working off-hours, including weekends and occasionally holidays, in order to support emergency matters
  • Experience in building and delivering law enforcement training programs at scale
  • Technical knowledge of specific criminal areas such as cybercrime, child safety, human trafficking, frauds and scams, illicit drugs/firearms or terrorism
  • Prosecution or criminal investigation experience
  • Experience working with data protection authorities, financial institutions, and/or internet industry associations
  • Familiarity and experience with the legal system in North America
