Lead Building Engineer

Meta is seeking a Lead Building Engineer for their Data Center Facility Operations team in Singapore. This role involves overseeing and maintaining critical systems in data centers, managing vendors, performing hands-on operations, and ensuring high levels of uptime, efficiency, and safety. The position requires extensive experience in diverse technical fields such as electrical, cooling, and building control systems, with a focus on operational excellence and compliance.

What you'd actually do

  1. Oversee the work for one or more 30MW+ data centers to ensure schedule deconfliction, work priority, maintenance compliance, procedural compliance, and team readiness
  2. Schedule and supervise vendors/subcontractors during equipment/systems maintenance and service
  3. Perform hands-on operations and maintenance which includes all physical and administrative operations tasks, service, and maintenance in accordance with site processes and procedures to ensure the highest levels of uptime, efficiency, and safety without disruption to the business
  4. Review all operating procedures, serve as final approval authority on some procedures based on internal standards
  5. Support incident management, root cause analysis, and corrective action closure for any operational issues that arise in the data center

Skills

Required

  • 7+ years experience in electrical, HVAC, mechanical, controls, or other technical maintenance field
  • Experience interpreting blueprints/CAD drawings
  • Knowledge of mechanical, electrical, and life safety monitoring and control systems typically used in critical environments
  • 5+ years experience in a data center or other Critical Environment (pharma, clean room, medical, power production, etc.)

Nice to have

  • Associate's degree in engineering plus 5+ years experience or Bachelor's degree in related field plus 3+ years experience in electrical, HVAC, mechanical, or controls will be considered in lieu of 7+ years experience
  • Proficient with maintenance management programs
  • Proficient with computer systems including documents, spreadsheets, and email
  • Professional affiliations (7x24 Exchange, IFMA, Data Center Pulse, etc.)
  • Trade Certification or state licensure in Electrical or Mechanical (HVAC)
