The Security Systems IV&V Engineer leads and executes Independent Verification & Validation efforts for network systems infrastructure projects, ensuring compliance with federal, DoD, and industry best practices. This role involves planning, coordinating, and executing IV&V activities, evaluating system architectures, conducting assessments and testing, identifying risks, and reporting findings. It requires applying NIST SP 800-53 controls, managing the RMF lifecycle, and supporting FedRAMP and FISMA compliance.

What you'd actually do

  1. Lead IV&V Initiatives: Plan, coordinate, and execute comprehensive IV&V activities for network and security infrastructure projects.
  2. Process Development: Develop and maintain IV&V methodologies, checklists, and documentation to ensure detailed coverage and traceability.
  3. System Review: Evaluate system architectures, configurations, and deployments for compliance with requirements and standards.
  4. Assessment & Testing: Conduct thorough assessments, audits, and testing of network components (routers, switches, firewalls, etc.) to validate security, functionality, and performance.
  5. Risk Identification: Identify gaps, risks, and non-conformities, providing actionable recommendations for remediation and risk reduction.
