Lead Engineer role focused on structural analysis of aircraft components using classical hand calculations and finite element methods. Responsibilities include load calculation, static, fatigue, damage-tolerance, and vibration analysis, documentation, and suggesting solutions. Requires a BE/B.Tech/ME/M.Tech in Mechanical/Aerospace Engineering with strong fundamentals in solid mechanics and machine design. Experience with analysis tools like Hypermesh or Nastran/Patran is desirable. Role involves working with cross-functional teams and communicating with US business units, with responsibility for schedule and cost.

What you'd actually do

  1. Performing structural analysis of Aircraft components, assemblies while working as a part of integrated team.
  2. Structural analysis includes calculation of loads, Static analysis, Fatigue analysis, Damage-Tolerance analysis, and Vibration analysis
  3. Evaluate structural integrity of aircraft components by way of classical hand calculations and, finite element method
  4. Draw FBDs based on the structural load paths. Generation of applied loads, interface loads and internal loads distributions, utilizing proper understanding and recognition of structural load paths and structural response to load.
  5. Prepare informal and formal documentation of strength check notes or revise existing stress report using MS Office products.

Skills

Required

  • BE/B.Tech/ME/M.Tech degree in Mechanical Engineering/Aerospace Engineering
  • Good Knowledge of composite Materials and Analysis
  • Sound Mechanical Engineering Fundamentals
  • Proficient in the fundamentals of solid Mechanics, Machine Design etc.
  • Good understanding of structural load paths and structural response to load.
  • Good communication and Interpersonal skills
  • Good analytical skills
  • Proficiency in Microsoft office – Word, Excel and Presentation
  • Knowledge on Aircraft structural part design, materials, and manufacturing processes

Nice to have

  • Experience in Analysis tools such as Hypermesh or Nastran/Patran desirable
