Lead Image Quality Engineer at GE Healthcare responsible for image chain hardware and image processing algorithm design for mobile C-arm X-ray products. This role involves designing, adjusting, and optimizing algorithms to meet clinical requirements, managing X-ray exposure for dose-quality balance, and collaborating with customers and marketing on new features. The engineer will test and evaluate imaging components, support manufacturing and service, and research new X-ray imaging technologies. Requires a Master's degree in a related field, 3+ years of experience in medical imaging, strong skills in image/signal processing and mathematical modeling, proficiency in MATLAB/Python/C/C++, and familiarity with AI development processes.

What you'd actually do

  1. Design image processing algorithm, adjust and optimize the parameters to meet clinical requirement.
  2. Design X-ray exposure management to get the balance of dose and image quality, work with generator design owner to implement the design.
  3. Working with customers, marketing, and field personnel to design and refine IQ related new features. Describing those features with technical requirement specification which can be follow by the design team.
  4. Test and evaluate imaging components/systems (detectors/grid/Filter…), analyze test data to provide professional evaluation report.
  5. Support manufactory, IB and service team to resolve IQ related complaints and improve customer satisfaction.
  6. Track and study latest technology in X-ray imaging and processing, involve in ATP (Advanced Technology Project) to introduce new algorithm and component into C-arm system, help to build technology advantage in surgery business.

Skills

Required

  • Master’s degree (or above) in Image Processing, Biomedical Engineering, X-Ray Imaging, or closely related discipline.
  • 3+ years (or equivalent) relevant working experience, especially in medical imaging devices
  • Good experience and design skill in image processing, signal processing, mathematical modeling.
  • Master MATLAB/python/C/C++ for algorithm implementation and simulation.
  • Familiar with AI development processes and skills
  • Self-starter, passion for learning, ability to develop timely and effective solutions for challenging design problems
  • Excellent teamwork, coordination and communication skills
  • Effective oral and written English communication skills
