This role is for a Lead Line Cook at DoorDash, responsible for overseeing daily kitchen operations, maintaining culinary standards, managing staff, inventory, and order execution. It involves cooking multiple culinary concepts, ensuring adherence to Standard Operating Procedures (SOPs) and recipes, and maintaining sanitation and safety standards. The role also includes receiving and organizing inventory and working collaboratively with the team.

What you'd actually do

  1. Oversee day to day execution of food orders, maintaining culinary standards and oversight of staff.
  2. Assist with team scheduling, managing inventory and tracking orders, and all other aspects of operating a professional kitchen.
  3. Cook multiple culinary concepts, executing brand’s menus in our first full service kitchen on the east coast and helping them reach new audiences.
  4. Assist with supervisory responsibilities according to company policy and procedures when the manager is not onsite.
  5. Maintain a full understanding of SOPs and recipes for assigned kitchen.

Skills

Required

  • 1-2 years of experience cooking in a high volume kitchen environment
  • 1 year of leadership experience in a kitchen setting
  • Experience preparing food from scratch
  • Basic knife skills
  • Experience cooking food items by grilling, frying, sautéing
  • NYC Food Protection Certificate
  • Highly organized
  • Work well under pressure
  • Execute tasks with speed, accuracy and attention to detail
