Lead Manufacturing Test Technician for Anduril Industries, a defense technology company building Autonomous Underwater Vehicles (AUVs). The role involves testing complex electromechanical assemblies, final products, leading a team of technicians, and working with engineering on AUV production integration. Requires extensive electronics and test experience, programming skills (Python, Matlab), and familiarity with hardware testing and communication protocols.

What you'd actually do

  1. The Lead Test Technician will report to the Production Supervisor and lead/work alongside other test technicians
  2. Work within a team of multidisciplinary engineers and operations team on pressure vessel assembly and test as part overall AUV production integration
  3. While executing manufacturing operations, apply a higher level of knowledge and skills in hardware assembly, troubleshooting and repair
  4. Prioritize work activities for operators to achieve on time delivery goals. Handle multiple priorities, organize workload, and meet deadlines. Ensure they are working on the right thing at the right time
  5. Perform configuration tasks to flash/load correct SW/FW versions onto devices.

Skills

Required

  • 10+ years in electronics and test working in relevant fields such as robotics, defense, or aerospace
  • Solid background in electronics/software working in relevant fields (Robotics, Defense, Avionics)
  • Experience with programming/testing a wide range of sensors, actuators, and electrical components
  • Experience in hardware testing and automated test systems (LabVIEW, Test Stand, etc.)
  • Proficiency in programming languages such as Python, Matlab, SHELL, or others
  • Experience with computer hardware communication protocols: USB, Ethernet, RS232, RS485, PCIe, HDMI, CAN, etc
  • Prior experience leading a team either in-kind or directly, in a fast-paced manufacturing environment
  • Experience in preparing and executing test procedures with high levels of attention to detail
  • Familiarity with electrical engineering principles and concepts
  • Experience working from technical documentation, electrical schematics, and engineering drawings
  • Familiarity with basic electrical test equipment such as DMMs, oscilloscopes, function generators, power supplies, etc.
  • Commitment to a high-quality product and strong sense of personal accountability

  • Excellent verbal & written communication skills
  • Has a never-ending sense of urgency and enthusiasm
  • Eligible to obtain and maintain an active U.S. Secret security clearance

Nice to have

  • Experience in sub-sea robotics (AUVs, UUVs, underwater equipment)
  • Experience working with electrical systems up to 400VDC
  • Subsea cable splicing or fabrication experience
  • Experience with pressure vessels and/or pressure systems/equipment
  • IPC 610 and/or 620 Certification
  • Experience with low volume / high mix manufacturing
