Lead Network Engineer

Disney Disney · Media · Celebration, FL +1

Lead Network Engineer responsible for the design, integration, and delivery of onboard infrastructure environments for new Disney Cruise Line vessels. This role involves full stack architectural oversight of compute, storage, virtualization, and network systems, ensuring scalability, security, and alignment with enterprise standards. Responsibilities include leading build-phase execution, problem resolution, defining technical standards, and ensuring cybersecurity-by-design principles are embedded, particularly concerning IACS E26/E27 requirements. The role also involves developing automated deployment frameworks and collaborating with vendors and cross-functional teams.

What you'd actually do

  1. Provides technical leadership and architectural direction to systems and network engineers. Mentors junior engineers and drives technical decision-making across the build lifecycle
  2. Leads end-to-end infrastructure design and delivery for new ship environments, including compute, storage, virtualization, and network platforms
  3. Leads complex problem resolution during the build phase, performing root cause analysis for critical issues impacting delivery timelines and system readiness
  4. Drives the implementation of infrastructure platforms, including virtualization clusters, HCI/CI systems, SAN fabrics, and core network architecture
  5. Defines, enforces, and evolves technical standards and reference architectures to ensure consistency, scalability, and compliance across all new builds
