Lead Principal Platform Software Engineer for Oracle Cloud Infrastructure (OCI) Networking, focusing on rearchitecting the routing foundation for next-generation networking services. The role involves leading the architecture, design, and implementation of highly scalable distributed systems for routing, workload placement, and fleet management at cloud scale.

What you'd actually do

  1. Lead the architecture, design, implementation, and evolution of highly scalable distributed systems that power OCI Networking.
  2. Drive the technical direction of critical platform services supporting routing, workload placement, and fleet lifecycle management.
  3. Partner across OCI organizations to build reliable, scalable, and operable cloud infrastructure.
  4. Mentor engineers, influence architectural decisions, and raise the engineering bar through technical leadership, design reviews, and operational excellence.

Skills

Required

  • 10+ years of experience designing and building large-scale distributed systems, cloud infrastructure, networking software, or systems software.
  • Strong computer science fundamentals, including algorithms, data structures, concurrency, distributed systems, and software design.
  • Strong familiarity with network routing protocols; implementation experience is highly desirable.
  • Experience building and operating modern CI/CD pipelines, release automation, and deployment workflows for large-scale distributed systems.
  • Experience designing, building, and operating highly available, production-grade distributed services at scale.
  • Demonstrated technical leadership, including driving architecture, mentoring engineers, and leading cross-team technical initiatives.
  • BS or MS in Computer Science, Engineering, or a related technical field, or equivalent practical experience.
