Job Description
Duties include (but are not limited to):
- Translate user requirements into a multi-physics design plan.
- Develop new acoustic models to simulate the performance of the ultrasound transducers and the new acoustic materials, develop reliable process for production.
- Identify, evaluate and develop new concepts for the new product development
- Participate and contribute in development of the transducer technology roadmap and process roadmap
- Define structure and process of transducers to meet required product performance
- Work in close collaboration with design engineer for design of tooling, fabrication process, test equipment towards manufacturing readiness.
- Use the expertise in acoustics, physics and technology of signal processing to support NPI, ATD, and VCP project
- Analyze performance deviation and solve problems for mass production products
Quality Specific Goals:
- Aware of and comply with the GEHC Quality Manual, Quality Management System, Quality Management Policy, Quality Goals, and applicable laws and regulations as they apply to this job type/position
- Complete all planned Quality & Compliance training within the defined deadlines
- Identify and report any quality or compliance concerns and take immediate corrective action as required
- Ensure compliance/closure of Regulatory and Quality requirements before approving Design Outputs/Program Deliverables
- Lead continuous improvement activities by driving the implementation of process and product quality improvement initiatives
Qualifications:
- Master’s degree or PhD in Physics (acoustics, optic, material), electrical engineering (signal processing), biomedical engineering
- At least 7 years’ experience for Master or 5 years’ experience for PhD in the design of ultrasound transducers with strong troubleshooting experience on transducers
- Strong understanding in Physics with a broad spectrum of knowledge (Acoustics, Optics, Signal Processing, Electronics, Physical Chemistry, Materials)
- Knowledge of probe manufacturing, processing and testing is a plus
- Familiar with acoustic material or similar like piezoelectric ceramic, single crystal etc.
- Experience with FEM modeling (ANSYS, PZFlex, COMSOL Multiphysics…)
- Excellent on MATLAB, MATHCAD
- Knowledge on medical ultrasound applications is a plus
- Proficiency in English communicate with cross-functional team members
