Job Summary:
The right person for this role brings an interdisciplinary skill set: an innovator with the product sense to identify the right things to focus on and the technical ability to solve them. They will leverage agentic AI and other technologies to build working prototypes that define and demonstrate the vision for new customer experiences, then work with cross-functional teams to bring those products to life. This includes defining technical requirements for complex projects that may involve industry standards while navigating the regulatory, technical, and commercial complexity of the Payments space. This is an individual contributor role.
Job Description:
**Essential Responsibilities: **
- Inputs to product strategy with cross-functional stakeholders consistent with the shared vision for the product or enabling platform.
- Implements the architectural roadmap that balances innovative design and technical implementation, while balancing regulatory requirements, time-to-market, meeting customer needs and product profitability.
- Controls for the customer experience and customer needs in product requirements and as an input to decision making.
- Monitors metrics that inform the success of products including usability studies, research and market analysis.
- Manages one or more workstreams to include analytics, customer discovery, market research and competitive analysis to drive data-driven decision-making.
- Monitors product profitability measures, including budget.
- Participates in operational mechanisms that drive execution and accountability including Product Reviews, Operating Reviews, and Business Reviews. Interfaces with product and technology leadership as needed.
- Partners with content developers, data scientists, product designers and user experience researchers.
Minimum Qualifications:
- 5+ years relevant experience and a Bachelor’s degree OR Any equivalent combination of education and experience.
Additional Responsibilities & Preferred Qualifications:
- Bachelor’s or master’s degree in computer science, Software Engineering, Computer Systems Engineering, Information Technology, or a related technical discipline.
- Hands-on experience with software development lifecycles, APIs, or system architecture is a strong plus.
- Familiarity with the Payments industry, including working knowledge of industry standard specifications such as ISO 8583, card network protocols, and transaction processing flows.
- Ability to understand and define requirements for technically complex problems, translating between business needs and engineering implementation.
- Familiarity with agile development methodologies and the ability to engage meaningfully with engineering teams on technical trade-offs, feasibility discussions, and roadmap prioritization.
- Experience reading or writing code, working with data pipelines, or using SQL for product analytics.
- Experience with or strong understanding of Agentic AI concepts, including agentic workflows, autonomous task execution, tool use and orchestration, and Model Context Protocol (MCP) servers.
- Exposure to LLM-powered product development, prompt engineering, or AI agent frameworks is highly desirable.
