What you'd actually do

  1. Own the end-to-end developer onboarding experience — from first contact with PayPal's developer platform to a working integration
  2. Define and track north star metrics around time-to-hello-world, activation, and developer retention
  3. Conduct ongoing discovery with external developers and merchants to surface friction, unmet needs, and opportunity areas
  4. Partner with engineering, design, and developer relations to ship high-quality developer-facing products
  5. Influence roadmap and strategy across adjacent teams without direct authority

Skills

Required

  • 5+ years relevant experience and a Bachelor’s degree OR Any equivalent combination of education and experience
  • 5–8 years of product management experience, with meaningful time spent on developer tools, developer experience, or API products
  • Background in payments, fintech, or a similarly complex platform ecosystem
  • Strong instinct for developer empathy — you've built for technical users before and know how to earn their trust
  • Metrics-driven approach to product decisions — you define success before you build, not after
  • Comfort operating as a senior IC: influencing without authority, driving alignment, and moving fast without a team under you
  • Clear communicator who can translate technical complexity into crisp product strategy
