Lead Relationship Management - (remote-eligible)

This role focuses on building and maintaining relationships with external and internal stakeholders to drive business growth within the payments industry. It involves identifying new business opportunities, managing risk, problem-solving client inquiries, negotiating contracts, and advising on operational initiatives and new products. The role also requires working with Compliance and Legal teams and providing industry insights into product development.

What you'd actually do

  1. Strategically partner internally and externally to identify new or additional business opportunities within existing high value accounts; maintain and grow relationships to attain new business opportunities and improve client experience.
  2. Ensure that risk is being mitigated as needed throughout the portfolio.
  3. Proactively address client inquiries and problem solve to resolve opportunities or issues. Negotiate contracts while ensuring compliance with new processes and business practices.
  4. Serve as trusted advisor between Discover and their portfolio of accounts by maintaining relationships with key decision-makers across all divisions of the assigned partner.
  5. Advise network participants of operational initiatives, new products/services/pricing or marketing program opportunities to ensure adoption.
  6. Provide voice of industry into products, marketing and operations by analyzing trends that may impact client engagement and work with internal stakeholders to develop tactics to improve Discover's position.
  7. Work closely with Compliance, Legal, and Due Diligence to ensure proposals and contracts are effectively and accurately produced.

Skills

Required

  • Bachelor's degree or military experience
  • 6 years of payments industry experience within financial services

Nice to have

  • 8+ years of payments industry experience within financial services
  • Experience influencing key stakeholders, executive level clients or internal business partners
  • Ability to maintain high productivity levels while navigating shifting priorities
