Lead Signal Integrity Engineer

AMD AMD · Semiconductors · Hyderabad, India · Engineering

This role is for a Lead Signal Integrity Engineer at AMD, focusing on ensuring the reliability and performance of high-speed interconnects in next-generation computing products. The engineer will be responsible for analyzing, modeling, and validating complex SerDes channels, high-speed memories, and Ethernet links, providing design guidelines, and collaborating with cross-functional teams. The role requires expertise in signal integrity engineering, high-speed interfaces, and simulation tools, with a strong academic background in Electrical or Computer Engineering.

What you'd actually do

  1. Model and simulate the end-to-end high-speed channels including transceivers, IC package, PCB and cross-boards connectors/cables
  2. Utilize industry-standard tools and methodologies to perform a variety of time/frequency domain signal integrity analysis (IBIS-AMI, SPICE, full-wave EM analysis, etc)
  3. Identify the link quality such as loss, reflection and crosstalk, and resolve the issues
  4. Simulations for HBM/DDR6/5, LPDDR6/5, LPCAM, DIMMs; PCIE Gen5/6/7 and other high-speed buses
  5. Conduct channel-simulations to optimize Eye Diagram, Bit Error Rate (BER) and Signal-Noise-Ratio (SNR) for high-speed signaling in a complex system.

Skills

Required

  • BS/MS or PhD degree in Electrical Engineering, Computer Engineering, or related field with 8+Yrs of exp
  • Strong experience in high-speed signal integrity engineering
