What you'd actually do

  1. Define and execute the mainframe technology strategy in alignment with business objectives and the broader Broker Dealer Platform vision
  2. Lead the design, with hands-on development, and implementation of mainframe solutions that support business objectives and operational needs.
  3. Serve as the primary liaison between technology and business teams, ensuring mainframe solutions address critical business needs and drive value.
  4. Oversee the delivery of mainframe projects and services, ensuring quality, timeliness, and alignment with business priorities.
  5. Leverage deep business knowledge to identify opportunities for process automation and operational efficiency and STP improvements across mainframe-supported functions.

Skills

Required

  • Formal training or certification on software engineering concepts and 5+ years applied experience
  • Experience with hands-on development in mainframe technologies (COBOL, JCL, DB2, CICS, VSAM, MQ, etc.), with at least 3 years in a leadership role.
  • Demonstrated, comprehensive business knowledge and experience partnering with senior business stakeholders.
  • Deep understanding of Post Trade business (Trade Processing, Settlements/Book keeping/ Statements/ Product & Pricing and Accounting concepts)
  • Proven track record of leading large-scale mainframe initiatives and delivering business value.
  • Strong strategic thinking, leadership, and communication skills.
  • Experience with mainframe modernization, data integration, and digital transformation
  • Understanding of risk, compliance, and regulatory requirements in the financial services industry.

Nice to have

  • Distributed and Cloud technology (AWS, Azure) exposure would be a plus.
