Lead Staff Electrical Engineer (f10 Program)

Skydio · Defense · San Mateo, CA +1 · R&D

Lead Electrical Engineer for Skydio's F10 Program, focusing on architecting and developing electrical systems for high-performance fixed-wing drones. The role involves cross-functional collaboration, design trade-offs, and engineering for volume production, with a focus on power electronics, controls, sensors, and high-speed communication.

What you'd actually do

  1. Drive architecture design for one of our newest systems
  2. Work cross functionally between EE, FW, RF, Reliability, and Mechanical teams
  3. Lead trade studies, understand competing design priorities, and provide direction and clarity for burning down risk
  4. Design and develop power electronics, controls, sensors, high speed communication
  5. Engineer electronics for volume production from product requirements to prototype to schematic capture to layout and validation
