Lead System Designer for GE Healthcare's Ultrasound Systems, responsible for the technical design, development, and maintenance of diagnostic ultrasound products. This role involves ensuring product quality, reliability, safety, and compliance within an Agile (SAFe) framework, working with global teams to deliver customer workflow and feature functionality.

What you'd actually do

  1. Lead the design team and design control process in requirements development, design planning, evaluation, verification, validation, and design transfer. Strong focus to ensure delivering high quality product.
  2. Ensure user requirements are properly translated into system requirements, designs, and test scenarios.
  3. Work closely with Product Management, Clinical Team, and cross functional teams to develop user requirements and define and enforce architectural guidelines.
  4. Work with global development and cross-functional teams to define requirements, reflecting user needs, risk mitigations, standards compliance, and regulatory compliance.
  5. Provide domain expertise to serve as the main connection between the hardware, systems, and software functions to deliver the highest quality product.

Skills

Required

  • Bachelor’s degree in Engineering or closely related discipline
  • 6 years relevant work experience
  • Proven ability to develop timely and effective solutions for challenging design problems
  • Demonstrated ability to pursue tasks to completion
  • Broad exposure to HW/SW/Systems design, and technical depth in one or more engineering disciplines (Electrical, Mechanical, Software, etc.)

Nice to have

  • Master’s degree in Engineering or other closely related fields

  • Demonstrated problem solving ability and results orientation

  • Knowledge of GE Healthcare tools and processes (engineering, sourcing, supply chain such as Agile, PDM, ALM, MyWorkshop, DOORS, Jama)
  • Change agent with energy, passion, and enthusiasm to drive change
  • Experience working in Agile or Scaled Agile Framework
  • Previous experience working with regulated medical products and/or Ultrasound
