What you'd actually do

  1. Plan and coordinate flight test mission requirements with responsible engineers from internal and external customers, to include collecting and defining test requirements, data requirements, instrumentation system definition/installation, test assets and spares, aircraft modification and de-modifications requirements and timelines, FAA certification requirements, etc.
  2. Partner with program engineering teams to determine system test requirements and design appropriate aircraft modification plans to allow for full lifecycle system integration & test activities
  3. Develop detailed test procedures, instrumentation layouts, and configuration definitions needed to perform the tests and minimize risk within the constraints of the test plan
  4. Design test approaches and analyze, process, and format data to verify customer requirements
  5. Prepare and publish test reports to document test results and satisfy requirements

Skills

Required

  • Bachelor of Science degree in Engineering, Engineering Technology (including Manufacturing Technology), Computer Science, Data Science, Mathematics, Physics, Chemistry or non-US equivalent qualifications directly related to the work statement
  • 5+ years of experience with flight test, flight operations, or system test
  • Ability to obtain a US Security Clearance

Nice to have

  • 10 or more years’ related work experience or an equivalent combination of education and experience
  • Experience as a lead engineer and/or in a leadership role
  • Experience with requirements elicitation, refinement, and verification
  • Experience with aircraft instrumentation system design implementation and application in flight test environment
  • Experience in mission systems integration and test
  • Active Secret US DoD Clearance
