Boeing's Millennium Space Systems is seeking a Director of Quality and Safety to lead the company's quality and safety initiatives, ensuring products meet high standards. This role involves overseeing quality systems, safety protocols, supplier quality, and process improvements across manufacturing, design, and supply chain. The position requires extensive experience in manufacturing and quality, with a focus on AS9100 standards and leadership in a defense/aerospace context.

What you'd actually do

  1. Be the reporting entity for the Quality System, Quality Assurance, and Safety staff
  2. Work with your team to set up methods to properly monitor the status of discrepancy (non-conformance) reports and environmental, health, and safety (EHS) reports and determine if help is needed
  3. Determine resource allocations to allow for efficient and scalable quality assurance and safety protocols in manufacturing, in receiving, and other locations as appropriate
  4. Build metrics and reporting to provide insight into the status of quality assurance of our products and in safety
  5. Provide teams and leadership with actionable summaries of trends or other issues

Skills

Required

  • Minimum 10 years experience in manufacturing and quality
  • Minimum 3 years experience supervising engineers or technicians
  • In depth knowledge of AS9100 or similar quality systems
  • First hand experience with quality audits
  • Ability to obtain a US Security Clearance

Nice to have

  • Aerospace industry experience
  • Bachelor’s degree in an engineering discipline
  • Prior experience working with members engaged by a collective bargaining unit
  • Prior experience with Safety standards, metrics, or audits
  • Familiarity with Jira and the Manufacturo (manufacturing execution system [MES])
  • Experience with statistical process control
