This role focuses on driving continuous product and process improvement initiatives within the Large Mining Truck team at Caterpillar, utilizing Lean Six Sigma methodologies to enhance product performance, resolve customer issues, and optimize operations. The position involves leading projects, analyzing data, collaborating with various teams, and coaching others on improvement methodologies.

What you'd actually do

  1. Lead, manage, and support process and product improvement projects using Lean, Six Sigma, and project management methodologies with customer back mentality
  2. Drive Continuous Product Improvement (CPI) initiatives supporting 785, 789, and 793 mining truck platforms with urgency
  3. Manage concurrent improvement projects, including high-priority enterprise initiatives aligned to business-critical outcomes
  4. Partner cross-functionally to resolve critical customer and field-reported issues, improving product performance and reliability
  5. Serve as a key liaison for dealer- and field-reported issues (including SIF/PSIF), ensuring effective tracking, prioritization, and resolution through internal systems

Nice to have

  • Proven ability to lead continuous product improvement efforts or resolve complex field and customer-facing issues with urgency
  • Proficiency in data visualization and analytics tools, such as Power BI or similar platforms
  • Familiarity with dealer-reported issues and field data systems, including myCPI, SIMSi, SIS, PSCRM (including SIF/PSIF and DSN) or comparable tracking tools
  • Hands-on involvement in tooling development and implementation supporting NPI and product improvement initiatives
  • Demonstrated success collaborating across engineering, product support, and manufacturing teams
