This role is for a Learning & Development Specialist in Surgical Robotics at Johnson & Johnson. The primary focus is on designing, delivering, and managing training programs for workforce capability, compliance, and continuous improvement within a regulated manufacturing environment. Responsibilities include assessing training needs, developing and facilitating training on various operational aspects, creating training materials, managing onboarding, tracking training completion via LMS, and evaluating training effectiveness. The role requires experience in regulated environments, understanding of manufacturing, safety, and quality systems, and proficiency with LMS and related software.

What you'd actually do

  1. Assess training needs across production, engineering, quality, and support functions to identify skill gaps and compliance requirements.
  2. Develop and facilitate training programs on manufacturing processes, equipment operation, safety, regulatory compliance, and leadership development.
  3. Create and maintain training materials, SOPs, e-learning modules, and competency documentation aligned with ISO, OSHA, and industry standards.
  4. Manage onboarding programs for new hires, ensuring a consistent and high-quality experience.
  5. Implement systems for tracking training completion, skill progression, and certification renewals using the LMS.

Skills

Required

  • Bachelor’s degree in human resources, Industrial Engineering, Business Management, or related field.
  • Minimum of 3 years of experience in training, manufacturing, or continuous improvement roles within a regulated environment.
  • Strong understanding of manufacturing environments, safety, quality systems, and compliance standards (ISO, OSHA).
  • Experience with Learning Management Systems (LMS) and training documentation processes.
  • Proficient in Microsoft Office: Word, Excel, PowerPoint, and Visio.
  • Familiar with Compliance Wire, electronic quality management system (ETQ), and Agile PLM.
  • Excellent communication, facilitation, and presentation skills.
  • Fluency in English for business communication.

Nice to have

  • Experience in electronics manufacturing, high-tech assembly, or MedTech environments.
  • Certifications such as OSHA 30, Six Sigma, TWI (Training Within Industry), CPTD/ATD (Certified Professional in Talent Development).
  • Minimum of 1 year of experience in leading learning and development team.
  • Second language other than English.
