Manages the end-to-end delivery of new data center capacity for Microsoft's Cloud Operations and Innovation (CO&I) organization, focusing on the commissioning process for lease projects in the Chicago, IL region. Responsibilities include managing commissioning agents, ensuring compliance with Microsoft standards, overseeing construction site inspections, and reporting on project progress, scope, schedule, and budget.

What you'd actually do

  1. Primary responsibility for Chicago, IL region commissioning projects with secondary responsibility for other CO&I commissioning projects for Americas.
  2. Manage the contracted Commissioning Agent assigned to Data Center construction projects in the Chicago, IL region.
  3. Drive the project Commissioning process including scope and schedule.
  4. Regularly reviews Construction Progress, QA/QC, Commissioning progress, issues, and KPI metrics to report to management.
  5. Responsible for developing, managing, and reporting on scope, schedule of the Commissioning Process for CO&I Projects.

Skills

Required

  • Doctorate Degree in Mechanical Engineering, Materials Engineering, Reliability Engineering, Electrical Engineering, or related field AND 2+ years technical engineering experience
  • Master's Degree in Mechanical Engineering, Materials Engineering, Reliability Engineering, Electrical Engineering, or related field AND 4+ years technical engineering experience
  • Bachelor's Degree in Mechanical Engineering, Materials Engineering, Reliability Engineering, Electrical Engineering, or related field AND 5+ years technical engineering experience
  • 12+ years relevant technical engineering experience.
