Lease Construction Manager

This role is for a Lease Construction Manager responsible for overseeing the construction of leased data center projects, ensuring compliance with Microsoft's requirements as outlined in the lease contract. The manager will act as Microsoft's Employer's Representative, coordinating with internal Subject Matter Experts and lease providers to achieve 'Ready for Service' status for each project. Key responsibilities include managing safety, stakeholder dependencies, vendor contracts, and ensuring alignment with regional business objectives and OKRs. The role requires strong communication, negotiation, and analytical skills, with a focus on driving safe, high-quality, and efficient project delivery in a fast-paced, technical environment.

What you'd actually do

  1. The LCM will be a relentless advocate for managing a safe worksite.
  2. The LCM will be responsible for identifying and managing stakeholder dependencies and construction deliverables and hand-offs with the following Microsoft teams: E2E (End-to-End), Security (DCPS), Data Center Engineering (DCE), Data Center Operations (DC Ops), Site Selection and Acquisition (SSA), Environmental Health & Safety (EHS).
  3. The LCM will manage lease providers and support associated teams & partners in the delivering RFS “Ready for Service”
  4. Manage & support vendor contracts
  5. The LCM will be responsible for ensuring regional goals of delivering capacity are aligned to business OKRs.

Skills

Required

  • Bachelor's Degree in Construction Project Management, Architecture, Engineering, or related field
  • 10+ years related experience
  • Strong interpersonal, communication and organizational skills
  • Ability to self-direct
  • Strong background in Data Center Construction
  • Technical depth in Data Center design and construction
  • Ability to lead in a fast-paced, highly technical environment
  • High judgment

  • Experience managing large scale enterprise projects with both localized and virtual teams.

  • Bachelor's Degree in Construction Project Management, Architecture, Engineering, or related field AND 12+ years related experience OR equivalent experience.
