This role is for an IP Counsel at a legal technology company that uses AI. The counsel will advise on intellectual property matters, focusing on IP licensing agreements, brand use, and marketing-related legal issues. They will partner with commercial and marketing teams, draft and negotiate IP-focused agreements, and protect Legora's IP and brand. The role requires a law degree, proficiency in Swedish and English, and 4-5 years of experience in IP law. Experience with AI and legal tech is a plus.

What you'd actually do

  1. Act as a commercial partner to the business, working closely with senior stakeholders in Partnerships, Marketing, Growth and Product, on IP-driven commercial initiatives.
  2. Lead the drafting, review, and negotiation of IP-focused agreements, including licensing, partnership, brand, and marketing agreements.
  3. Advise on IP risk allocation, licensing models, usage rights, ownership, and contractual protections in customer- and partner-facing agreements.
  4. Protect and enforce Legora’s IP and brand, including managing trademark and domain portfolios, coordinating registrations, and supporting IP-related disputes and litigation as needed.
  5. Develop and maintain IP and licensing templates, playbooks, and guidelines to standardise negotiations, protect core IP assets, and improve execution speed.

Skills

Required

  • Law degree (LL.M. or equivalent) from Sweden, the UK, or an EU-jurisdiction, qualified to practice in that country.
  • Proficiency in both spoken and written Swedish and English.
  • 4-5 years of experience at a top-tier law firm and/or as an in-house legal counsel.
  • Strong experience drafting and negotiating IP, content licensing, and commercial agreements, and supporting commercial and marketing teams.
  • Strong legal judgment and confidence in making decisions independently.
  • Focus on achieving meaningful business outcomes, translating into actionable advice delivered clearly and comprehensively.
  • Ability to thrive in a fast-paced, dynamic entrepreneurial environment and rapidly evolving business setting.
  • Ability to take initiative and deliver high-quality results.
  • Ability to work independently and manage work across different time zones.
