Lime is hiring a EMEA Legal Director, Employment Law to join their Legal team. This role will serve as a senior legal partner to the People team, business leaders, and cross-functional stakeholders on complex employment law matters across multiple jurisdictions. The ideal candidate brings deep employment law expertise, sound judgment, and substantial experience advising on workforce classification and contingent workforce structures.

What you'd actually do

  1. Serve as the senior legal partner for HR, People, and business leaders on a wide range of day-to-day employment law matters across multiple jurisdictions
  2. Advise on complex employment issues, including employee relations, performance management, terminations, investigations, accommodations, leaves, works council matters, workforce classification, TUPE-related issues, reorganizations, and other sensitive workplace matters
  3. Lead employment-related disputes, litigation, agency charges, audits, inspections, and regulatory matters, including management of outside counsel
  4. Partner cross-functionally on the design, implementation, and ongoing assessment of workforce structures, operational practices, and contracts.
  5. Draft, review, and localize employment agreements, handbooks, separation agreements, policies, and other employment-related documents

Skills

Required

  • J.D. or equivalent law degree and active bar membership in good standing
  • 10+ years of relevant employment law experience
  • Deep practical knowledge of employment law across multiple jurisdictions
  • Significant experience advising on workforce classification, contingent workforce models, independent contractor issues, and related litigation, investigations, or regulatory enforcement
  • Strong experience handling employment litigation, agency matters, internal investigations, and escalated workplace issues
  • Demonstrated ability to operate autonomously, prioritize effectively, and manage a high-volume, high-complexity workload
  • Excellent communication and influencing skills
  • Strong business judgment and a solutions-oriented approach
