The Legal Entity Accounting Team Lead at Johnson & Johnson in Prague, Czechia, is responsible for accounting for direct tax, statutory accounting, statutory and legal reporting, and coordinating the preparation of local statutory financial statements. This role involves managing US GAAP activities, overseeing the preparation of local statutory financial statements, acting as a point of contact for third-party providers and internal teams, ensuring timely and accurate data delivery, participating in process standardization projects, and leading a team of direct reports.

What you'd actually do

  1. Management of US GAAP related activities (quarterly tax provisions, yearly tie-out, deferred tax, local direct taxes, reporting on Legal Entity level, BSAR, flux analysis).
  2. Management of the preparation of local statutory financial statements (both through third-party provider and inhouse (depending on the entity) & external statutory audits (PwC).
  3. Main point of contact for third-party providers (PwC, Deloitte) and the J&J Process Teams (e.g. CTC, BUF) for matters related to audits and statutory accounting.
  4. Ensure smooth processes to deliver timely and accurately data for local statutory financial statements.
  5. Active participation in projects to foster process standardization and automation on a regional & global level.
  6. Leading up to 3 direct reports: recruiting, training, performance management.

Skills

Required

  • University degree
  • minimum of 6 years' financial experience
  • Understanding of the financial reporting and general ledger structure
  • Understanding of the audit process and ability to liaise with the auditors
  • Appreciation of local GAAP differences and adjustments from US GAAP
  • Experience and skills working with SAP and Excel.
  • Strong analytical and problem-solving skills
  • Strong verbal and written communication skills
  • Strong interpersonal and customer service skills
  • Proven business partnering skills
  • Ability to multi-task, work under pressure, meet deadlines and be able to thrive in a fast-paced, matrix work environment
