Legal Operations Associate

This role supports the Legal Operations team by providing paralegal, operational, and administrative assistance. Responsibilities include contract negotiation, knowledge management, document retention, process optimization, and supporting regulatory compliance. The role will also assist with legal tech execution, including managing contract lifecycle management (CLM) tools and potentially other AI tools.

What you'd actually do

  1. Triage and provide frontline support for requests from the Company to the legal department
  2. Prepare and maintain records and documentation, such as business licenses, construction contracts, leases, letters of intent, waivers, and notices.
  3. Draft, review and redline standard contracts, e.g., NDAs, SaaS licenses, vendor contracts, engagement letters, leases, MOUs, AIA agreements, etc.
  4. Be a partner to the lawyers on the team with respect to data requests, research, organizational filing and general project management
  5. Coordinate electronic signatures and manage our Contract Lifecycle Management (CLM) tool and contract records

Skills

Required

  • At least 2 years of relevant experience
  • Bachelor's degree and/or paralegal certificate
  • Strong written and verbal communications skills and excellent attention to detail and accuracy
  • Experience with productivity tools (e.g. AirTable, Slack, DocuSign, Jira) and familiarity with or willingness to learn contract or matter management systems.
  • The ability to build strong relationships within the team and cross-functionally, including Real Estate, Core Operations, Supply Chain, and more
  • Experience in supporting small and large-scale projects
  • Solutions oriented, with interest in developing and streamlining processes and creating efficiencies
  • Self-starter who is able to identify areas where they can assist
  • Willing to wear multiple hats with shifting priorities and work on projects of all types, big and small
  • Excellent analytical and critical thinking skills
  • A positive, team player attitude, good judgment, and eagerness to help others

Nice to have

  • Interested in national security and changing the landscape of defense contracting
  • Experience with startup, defense, and/or in-house at a high-growth company strongly preferred
  • Familiarity with estoppels, notarizations, apostilles, and more
  • Familiarity with or exposure to permitting, business licenses, and specialized licensing
  • At least 2 years’ experience at a nationally recognized law firm or in house strongly preferred
