This role focuses on managing and migrating Oracle software licenses for the Department of War (DoW) Enterprise Software Initiative (ESI) contract. It involves assessing existing license estates, developing migration strategies, and ensuring compliance with contractual requirements. The specialist acts as an advisor to customers and internal teams, coordinating with various departments to execute license changes, support reinstatements, and ULA transitions.

What you'd actually do

  1. Review existing Oracle license estates and identify opportunities to migrate customers to ESI licensing benefits and improved licensing metrics.
  2. Conduct detailed license assessments including: - End user definitions - License metrics - Program restrictions - Virtualization and cloud rights - CSP cloud deployments - License assignments and ownership structures
  3. Develop migration strategies that preserve customer investments while expanding licensing flexibility and contract benefits.
  4. Evaluate Named User Plus (NUP) to Processor conversions and other licensing metric transformations.
  5. Assess support status and coordinate support reinstatement activities when required prior to migration.
