Northrop Grumman is seeking a Linux Systems Administrator for a classified government contract in Linthicum, MD. The role involves performing Linux system administration, maintaining system operations, recommending and implementing enhancements, providing backup and recovery, managing accounts and permissions, testing releases, documenting processes, and adhering to strict information security guidelines. Candidates must possess a TS/SCI clearance with a recent Polygraph and relevant IT certifications (DOD 8570 IAT Level II or higher). Experience with NISPOM, DCID, RMF, STIG, JAFAN, or JSIG environments is required. The position can be filled at either the Level 3 (Principal) or Level 4 (Sr. Principal) level depending on experience.

What you'd actually do

  1. Perform as primary Linux Systems Administrator for a classified government contract.
  2. Maintain smooth operation of multi-user computer systems, including coordination with network, software, and system engineers, PC desktop technicians, project managers, end users, and customer and IT management.
  3. Recommend and implement system enhancements that will improve the performance and reliability of the system including installing, upgrading/patching, monitoring, problem resolution, and configuration management.
  4. Adhere to strict Information Systems security guidelines in all cases.
  5. Maintain security audit and logging information on all classified networked and standalone computers as directed by the Information Systems Security Manager (ISSM).

Skills

Required

  • Linux server Operating Systems support
  • Linux Workstation and Server management
  • DOD 8570 IAT Level II or higher certification
  • Experience operating under, and managing systems within, NISPOM Chapter 8, DCID 6/3-ICD 503, RMF, STIG, JAFAN, or JSIG information system environments
  • Current DOD Top Secret level security clearance, to include SCI access and a recent Polygraph
  • Ability to obtain, and maintain, access to Special Programs
