Northrop Grumman is seeking a Linux Systems Administrator to support the National Air and Space Intelligence Center (NASIC) at Wright Patterson Air Force Base. The role involves maintaining and enhancing Linux server environments, ensuring system reliability, security, and performance. Responsibilities include installation, patching, monitoring, problem resolution, user account management, and vendor interaction. Experience with RHEL/Rocky/AlmaLinux, IT automation (Ansible), containerization (Docker/Podman), and scripting (Python/Bash) is preferred. A Top Secret clearance is required.

What you'd actually do

  1. Maintain smooth operation of multi-user computer systems, including coordination with network, software, and system engineers, project managers, end users, and customer and IT management.
  2. Recommend and implement system enhancements to improve performance and reliability of system, including installing, upgrading/patching, monitoring, problem resolution, and configuration management.
  3. Create and maintain user and computer accounts and modify file permissions and security access lists.
  4. Adhere to Information Systems security guidelines.
  5. Test new releases of products to ensure compatibility and minimize user impact.

Skills

Required

  • Linux administration
  • RedHat Enterprise Linux (RHEL 8/9), Rocky Linux or AlmaLinux
  • IAT Level II certification (SecurityX or Security+)
  • Top Secret/Sensitive Compartmented Information security clearance (TS/SCI)
