Joby Aviation Joby Aviation · Robotics · Santa Cruz, CA · Flight Physics

Joby Aviation is seeking a Loads Engineer to join their Flight Physics team to perform external loads analysis for aircraft and its systems, support flight and ground testing, develop and maintain aeroelastic and aerodynamic models, and contribute to FAA certification documentation. The role requires experience with structural loads, aeroelasticity, FEA tools, and programming in MATLAB/Python.

What you'd actually do

  1. Perform external loads analysis for aircraft and its systems across the full operational envelope
  2. Directly support flight and ground testing in day-to-day test campaign operations in CA
  3. Support data reduction and analysis from flight test and ground test campaigns
  4. Develop and maintain various aeroelastic and aerodynamic models in support of loads derivation
  5. Contribute to the development and improvement of analysis and simulation tools used by the loads team
