The Logistics Engineer role at Caterpillar focuses on supporting the design and implementation of logistics processes, machinery, equipment, storage concepts, and parts shipments, specifically for lithium-ion battery shipments and battery-powered machinery within the Electrification & Energy Solutions (E&ES) division. Responsibilities include ordering packaging and transportation solutions, communicating with facilities on transportation issues, handling battery recycling, creating/updating transportation systems, managing packaging inventory, and utilizing various supply chain systems.

What you'd actually do

  1. Order packaging and transportation solutions for new product introductions, battery shipments, and work on other supply chain improvements related to transportation and packaging.
  2. Communicate with existing facilities on transportation issues related to receiving, warehousing, and/or line side delivery.
  3. Handle battery recycling activities
