This role involves performing destruction of data-bearing devices, harvesting and testing parts from decommissioned devices, overseeing third-party destruction processes, conducting inventory cycle audits, and managing inbound/outbound deliveries within Microsoft's Cloud Operations & Innovation (CO+I) division. The technician will work with various inventory management systems and ensure accurate physical inventory tracking.

What you'd actually do

  1. Performs destruction of data bearing devices (DBD) following all Service Level Agreements (SLAs) and Microsoft policies as necessary. Also, oversee third party vendors in DBD destruction process.
  2. Harvest parts and components from assets per operational procedures and instructions
  3. Test parts and components per operational procedures and instructions.
  4. Maintains and stewards up-to-date and accurate logical information within various inventory management systems (e.g., configuration management databases, asset management repositories).
  5. Ensures detailed physical inventory tracking and staging.

Skills

Required

  • High School Diploma
  • 1+ year(s) experience warehouse/supply chain in an information technology (IT) environment, inventory management, retail, warehouse management, or a related field

Nice to have

  • 2+ year(s) experience in warehouse/supply chain in an information technology (IT) environment, IT, and/or logistics
  • operating heavy-load movement equipment (e.g., forklift, pallet jacks, chassis lifts) for a large corporation
