This role is for a Logistics Technician in a Microsoft data center, focusing on physical operations such as receiving, unpacking, staging, packing, shipping of server equipment, inventory and asset management, and destruction of data-bearing devices. It requires business-level Japanese and English, basic computer skills, and the ability to perform physical labor. The role is not directly involved in AI/ML development or research.

What you'd actually do

  1. Receiving, unpacking, staging, packing, and shipping of server-related equipment (more than 50% of this role involves such physical work).
  2. Inventory and asset management.
  3. Supervising the delivery of server racks.
  4. Destroying large quantities of data bearing devices (e.g., HDD, SSD).
  5. Arranging delivery schedules of server racks and server-related equipment.

Skills

Required

  • Business level Japanese and English (reading, writing, listening, speaking)
  • Basic computer skills (e.g., Outlook/Word/Excel/SharePoint)
  • Able to perform multiple hours of standing work and physical labor
  • Able to flexibly dispatch to multiple data centers across the region
  • Excellent communication skills and teamwork
  • High school graduation or equivalent

Nice to have

  • Experience in logistics, warehouse, and/or the manufacturing industry
