Lower Tier Air & Missile Defense Sensor (ltamds) Jira Administrator

RTX is seeking a Jira Administrator for the Lower Tier Air & Missile Defense Sensor (LTAMDS) program. This role involves managing Jira servers, user accounts, workflows, and integrations to support the software development lifecycle within a DevSecOps framework. The position requires experience with Jira configuration, scripting, Agile/Scrum principles, and a Secret security clearance.

What you'd actually do

  1. Managing user accounts and permissions, including handling onboarding and offboarding to EIM/AD groups.
  2. Ensuring alignment and standardization across all Jira projects, both unclassified and on the IS.
  3. Regular maintenance to ensure optimal system performance and reliability.
  4. Providing direct user support, answering questions, resolving issues, and offering training as needed or requested.
  5. Designing, implementing, and maintaining workflows, permissions, and project structures to meet LTAMDS-specific requirements.

Skills

Required

  • Degree in Science, Technology, Engineering or Mathematics (STEM) and a minimum of 5 years of prior relevant experience
  • Experience with Jira in configuring workflows, permissions, and issue types
  • Experience with Jira automation features, including scripting languages like Groovy (for ScriptRunner) or JavaScript
  • Experience with Software Development Lifecycle processes (specifically SW code/test/review)
  • Experience with Jira Dashboards and Structure plugin
  • Experience with Configuration Management (CM) tools (ClearCase, Git, GitLab, etc)
  • Experience with Agile and Scrum principles
  • The ability to obtain and maintain a U. S. government issued Secret security clearance prior to the start date. U.S. citizenship is required

Nice to have

  • Analytical thinking to troubleshoot and resolve problems in Jira configurations or integrations.
  • Understanding of CI/CD pipelines and tools such as Jenkins or GitLab CI/CD.
  • Experience managing multiple Jira instances, especially in complex environments.
  • Understanding of project management principles to align Jira configurations with organizational goals.
  • Understanding Agile/Scrum principles to configure Jira projects and workflows that support iterative development.
  • Ability to adjust Jira to match the needs of Agile teams (e.g., sprints, kanban boards, backlog grooming).
  • Ability to create and manage custom scripts and automation rules to enhance Jira functionality.
  • Experience integrating Jira with other tools (e.g., Confluence, Bitbucket, Jenkins, GitLab, or other DevOps tools).
  • Experience with APIs for building custom integrations.
