Northrop Grumman is seeking a Multi-Axis Machinist to set up and operate Multi-Axis Milling Machines, supporting underwater systems, sensors, and vehicles. Responsibilities include programming and operating CNC machines, interpreting blueprints, and performing computations related to machining. Requires experience with MasterCAM and multi-axis CNC machines, with a Secret Security Clearance.

What you'd actually do

  1. The Machinist will be responsible for setting up and operating Multi-Axis Milling Machines.
  2. A working knowledge of MasterCAM CNC programing software (or equivalent) with a minimum of 5 years experience.
  3. Able to set up and operate a variety of machine tools including but not limited to manual mills, as well as CNC, 3, 4 & 5 axis milling machines and manual 'chucker' lathes as well as, live tool CNC lathes.
  4. Able to align, fasten and fixture work using custom tooling fixture, clamps and various shop aides.
  5. Able to use & understand tool sharpeners, tool tolerances, dimensions, calibrated measurements, setup sheets, callouts, probes, feeds & speeds, and standard specs.

Required

  • Mastercam or equivalent
  • Multi-Axis CNC machines
  • High school diploma or equivalent/GED and 4 years of additional education and/or related experience
  • Experience running machines and setup
