Job Summary
Responsible for performing routine plant maintenance, troubleshooting calls, surveys, locates, outage repair, track and repair Cumulative Leakage Index (CLI), power supply maintenance, and construction maintenance in accordance with Company procedures and practices. Will be called upon to troubleshoot and resolve service failures related but not limited to Company services such as Video (analog and digital), Comcast Digital Voice (CDV), and Comcast High Speed Data (CHSI) inclusive of Home Networking and Home Plug.

- Safety Awareness Consistently follows safety procedures and requirements, including wearing personal protective equipment (PPE) at all times while working in the field and around active cable plant, power lines, and equipment.
- Preventative Maintenance Understands the proactive nature of network maintenance by verifying signal strength, inspecting nodes and plant, and identifying potential issues early to ensure customers receive the highest quality service and speeds possible.
- Aerials Comfortable working at heights, including climbing ladders and poles and operating aerial lifts, with confidence performing elevated work and no fear of heights.
Core Responsibilities
- Responds to damage scenarios, service interruptions, and outages by troubleshooting and resolving complex network issues through collaboration with Construction, Head End, Operations, and other departments.
- Performs construction maintenance duties including splicing aerial and underground coaxial cable, restoring plant to system specifications, activating new plant, and repairing or replacing damaged cable plant.
- Is able to isolate and resolve fiber optic signal impairments for Hybrid Fiber Coax (HFC) and Ethernet Passive Optical Network (EPON) networks and inspect fiber optic equipment such as connectors, patch panels, splitters, attenuators, and related components.
- Possesses the ability to troubleshoot analog and digital optics to support connectivity to the node, OLT/vBNG, or OLT, using software and application‑based tools.
- Performs CLI ride‑outs and tracks and repairs leakage as necessary.
- Applies knowledge of industry codes and regulations including the National Electrical Code (NEC), National Electrical Safety Code (NESC), OSHA, FCC, EPA, DOT, ANSI, and applicable state and local codes.
- Responds to service interruptions during regular business hours, shift work, and on‑call rotations as required, including evenings, weekends, holidays, and overtime.
- Cleans, maintains, and stocks company vehicle and equipment to ensure readiness for daily responsibilities.
- Completes all required paperwork and job documentation accurately and in a timely manner.
- Drives company vehicles in a safe and responsible manner and works in inclement weather conditions.
- Completes required training in accordance with Company standards and applies knowledge and skills on the job.
- Considered essential personnel during major storms or large‑scale events impacting customers.
- Other duties and responsibilities as assigned.
Qualifications
- Must have the ability to comply with safety procedures and requirements.
- Must be able to work while standing 50–70% of the time.
- Must have the ability to climb ladders and operate aerial lifts up to 34 feet above ground; in some instances, pole climbing may be required.
- Must be able to lift and carry loads of 70 lbs. or more.
- Must possess the ability to use basic cable test equipment, cable installation tools, and hand tools, including the use of a hand shovel.
- Performs work near power lines and electricity and within manufacturer‑rated weight capacity for all equipment.
- Must have vision abilities including close vision, peripheral vision, adjusting focus, and differentiating colors.
- Must possess the ability to manipulate connectors, fasteners, wire, pens, keyboards, and mouse.
- Minimum of twelve months cable telecommunications, broadband, or similar experience required.
- Must possess a valid driver’s license and satisfactory driving record.
- Must maintain regular, consistent, and punctual attendance and be able to work variable schedules, including nights and weekends, as required.
- Comcast experience preferred.

Compensation
Primary Location Pay Range: $32.65 - $54.20
Comcast intends to offer the selected candidate base pay within this range, dependent on job-related, non-discriminatory factors such as experience. The application window is 30 days from the date job is posted, unless the number of applicants requires it to close sooner or later.
