Johnson & Johnson MedTech is seeking a Maintenance Manager to lead Maintenance, Machine Shop, and Asset Management teams to ensure safe, reliable, compliant, and cost-effective manufacturing operations. The role involves developing maintenance strategies, overseeing machine shop operations, managing asset lifecycle, and partnering with other departments to maximize equipment performance. Responsibilities include leading teams, managing budgets, ensuring compliance, and coordinating breakdown responses.

What you'd actually do

  1. Lead, coach, and develop direct reports across Maintenance, Machine Shop, and Asset Management functions
  2. Develop and execute maintenance strategies, including preventive, predictive, and reliability-centered maintenance, aligned with business goals
  3. Oversee machine shop operations, including machining, fabrication, welding, and repair services to support production and capital projects
  4. Manage the asset management program, including asset register, lifecycle planning, spare parts optimization, CMMS data integrity, and asset health monitoring
  5. Establish and monitor key performance indicators, including equipment availability, MTTR, MTBF, OEE, maintenance cost per asset, preventive maintenance compliance, spare parts turnover, stockouts, and safety performance

Skills

Required

  • Bachelor’s degree in Mechanical Engineering, Electrical Engineering, Manufacturing, Industrial Technology, or a related field
  • 6 years of progressive maintenance experience in a manufacturing or industrial environment
  • 3 years of people management experience leading multi-disciplinary maintenance teams
  • Technical knowledge of mechanical, electrical, PLC controls, hydraulics, pneumatics, and machine tool maintenance
  • Understanding of machine shop operations, including CNC, lathes, mills, fabrication, and welding
  • Experience implementing and managing CMMS systems
  • Experience applying asset management best practices
  • Experience with reliability programs, including RCM, TPM, and structured root-cause analysis
  • Ability to manage budgets, labor allocation, maintenance spend, and capital projects
  • Strong communication and interpersonal skills

Nice to have

  • Experience in regulated industries, such as medical devices, pharmaceuticals, or food and beverage manufacturing
  • Familiarity with GMP, ISO, or other regulated manufacturing requirements
  • Experience implementing continuous improvement initiatives
  • Lean and/or Six Sigma certification
