Northrop Grumman is seeking a Maintenance Reliability Engineer to support manufacturing operations. The role involves specializing in automated electrical/mechanical components and manufacturing equipment, ensuring preventative maintenance procedures are in place, recommending critical spare parts, and developing machine monitoring strategies to predict failures. The engineer will also analyze data, perform Root Cause Corrective Action and FMEA, and contribute to developing standard specifications for future equipment purchases.

What you'd actually do

  1. Review existing manufacturing equipment and become completely familiar with the OEM’s manufacturing build protocol as it relates to machine function.
  2. Provide emphasis to ensure that the correct preventative maintenance procedures are in place for the electrical and mechanical systems, and recommend all critical spare parts to keep the plant operational 24/7.
  3. Develop and implement machine monitoring strategies to support the reliability-centered maintenance program to predict machine failures before they happen using vibration, temperature, and other variable analysis.
  4. This position works to ensure that all manufacturing equipment performs at its ultimate performance level and maintains a high level of machine uptime.
  5. You will prepare presentations and reports detailing the Operational Equipment Effectiveness on assets you support.

Skills

Required

  • Bachelors degree in STEM
  • minimum 2 years of related engineering experience with a Bachelor’s degree; or 0 years with a Master’s (Principal level requires 5 years with a Bachelor’s degree; 3 years with a Master’s degree; or 0 years with a PhD)
  • Minimum of 2 years’ experience with manufacturing processes, equipment, or manufacturing facilities support/maintenance
  • Basic understanding of manufacturing equipment
  • Proficient in Word, Excel, MS Project, PowerPoint, and Power BI
  • U.S. Citizenship with the ability to obtain and maintain a DoD Secret clearance with the capability for SAP access
  • Ability to negotiate and consult with vendors as required to maintain and repair electrical and mechanical equipment

  • Experience with Ignition, Canary, or other Industrial IoT technology
  • Understanding of CAPEX engineering projects or equipment installation
  • Experience with equipment and control systems, including Allen Bradley, FANUC, and Siemens
  • Experience in installing, commissioning, supporting, or maintaining industrial manufacturing equipment
