This role is for a Maintenance Technician II at Nordstrom, responsible for leading a team to ensure a safe and well-maintained store environment. The technician will support the Facility Manager by overseeing HVAC, vertical transportation, building systems, and responding to break-fix requests. Key responsibilities include performing preventive maintenance, troubleshooting electrical and mechanical issues, operating building controls, leading equipment rounds, and assisting with administrative tasks like parts ordering and vendor management. The role also involves mentoring other technicians and promoting a safe working environment.

What you'd actually do

  1. Lead and perform both on demand and planned monthly, quarterly, semi-annual, and annual Preventive Maintenance on all critical and non-critical equipment
  2. Troubleshoot electrical and mechanical problems related to all Store Operations
  3. Operate and monitor building controls, critical and non-critical building systems, and associated equipment.
  4. EMCS command: Troubleshooting alarms, verifying proper building operation.
  5. Lead equipment and building rounds & readings. Responsible for identifying, mitigating, and reporting building systems and equipment malfunctions.

Skills

Required

  • 5-7 years of experience of hands-on facilities with an emphasis in mechanical maintenance.
  • 5+ years of experience conducting predictive and preventative maintenance procedures
  • 5+ years of working experience involving HVAC and refrigeration, carpentry, plumbing, electrical and mechanical skills to perform facilities and equipment repairs.
  • Able to troubleshoot basic input and output functions. Low voltage signal tracing and troubleshooting of logical devices.
  • Able to work without supervision and appropriately meet multiple deadlines.
  • Ability to communicate effectively and comfortably with all organizational levels. Must include written and verbal skills.
  • Strong dedication to supporting facility by working in a safe, customer focused manner. Must be highly self-motivated.
  • Ability to utilize all Microsoft Office programs and applications at an intermediate level
  • Previous experience with a Computerized Maintenance Management System (CMMS) and ordering system (Coupa)
  • Knowledge of computer networking systems and infrastructure
  • Experience with electromechanical operation and maintenance

Nice to have

  • Associates or higher degree from a vocational school or college preferred
  • Project Management experience a plus!
  • Ability to maintain a flexible schedule: days, evenings, weekends, and off-hours may be required
