Seeking a skilled Maintenance Technician I for a fulfillment center. Responsibilities include performing maintenance and repairs on various systems, ensuring equipment functionality, implementing maintenance tasks, inspecting systems, handling equipment accountability, using CMMS, diagnosing and resolving mechanical and electrical problems, and following company procedures. Requires 36 months of facility maintenance experience, proficiency in electrical systems, tool usage, physical stamina, and technical knowledge of mechanical and electrical systems, PLCs, and HVAC.

What you'd actually do

  1. Perform Maintenance and Repairs: Carry out maintenance, repair, housekeeping, plumbing, metal fabrication, and carpentry to support the high-speed operations of our fulfillment center.
  2. Ensure Equipment Functionality: Monitor and ensure that all fulfillment center equipment is running efficiently and that the work environment remains safe for all Team Members.
  3. Implement Maintenance Tasks: Complete scheduled and ad-hoc maintenance tasks throughout the facility efficiently and effectively.
  4. Inspect Systems: Conduct daily inspections of conveyor systems, shipping, and packing equipment areas to identify and address potential issues.
  5. Handle Equipment Accountability: Coordinate the maintenance and accountability of assigned equipment and gear, seeking for zero loss, damage, and defects.

Skills

Required

  • 36 months in facility maintenance, with background in mechanics, construction, engineering, aviation, or transportation repair
  • Proficiency or a proven understanding of electrical systems
  • Experience using maintenance tools and equipment effectively
  • Ability to lift up to 75 pounds and frequently stand, walk, bend, stoop, twist, and turn
  • Strong curiosity about math, electricity, shop mechanics, electric motors, and appliances
  • Knowledge of potential exposure to high voltage, welding equipment, and various lubricants and solvents
  • Willingness to work nights, weekends, and/or a floating schedule
  • Familiarity with fire systems and fire alarm electronic devices
  • Ability to read, understand, and interpret electrical, pneumatic, and plumbing schematics
  • Experience with conveyor systems (belts, drives, tracking valves) and VFD motor controllers, motor starters, and control cabinets
  • Basic knowledge of PLCs, including input/output solving and some programming
  • Understanding or experience with HVAC systems
  • Ability to communicate preventative maintenance and repair needs, bring up issues outside normal hours, and make sound decisions under pressure
  • Skill in identifying and addressing potential issues before they lead to equipment breakdown
