Major Account Manager

Datadog is seeking a Major Account Manager to drive new business and expand the Datadog footprint with their largest and most strategic clients. This role focuses on achieving bold revenue targets within a fast-paced sales environment, nurturing client relationships, and developing a deep understanding of customer businesses to negotiate favorable terms. The ideal candidate has extensive enterprise software sales experience, a proven track record of exceeding sales goals, and the ability to manage complex account teams. While the role is within the AI observability and security platform company, the core responsibilities are sales-focused.

What you'd actually do

  1. Prospect into a targeted set of accounts while running an efficient sales process
  2. Nurture existing client relationships and grow the Datadog footprint
  3. Maintain, build and own specific relationship maps for your territory including existing relationships and aspirational contacts
  4. Develop a deep comprehension of the customer's business
  5. Negotiate favorable pricing and business terms by selling value and ROI

Skills

Required

  • 7+ years Enterprise software sales experience
  • Experienced in selling Fortune 100 companies
  • Experience managing a complex account team
  • Experience/success selling new solutions into accounts already leveraging core technical products
  • Consistently met/exceeded direct sales goals
  • Able to demonstrate methodology to prospect and build pipeline on your own
  • Experienced in working for an innovative tech company
  • Role requires regular travel to client sites
