What you'd actually do

  1. Lead, coach, and develop the accounting team, setting clear expectations and driving strong engagement and execution.
  2. Own month-end and quarter-end close processes to ensure timely, accurate, and well-controlled financial reporting aligned with corporate and group requirements.
  3. Oversee general ledger integrity, including journal approvals, account reconciliations, fluctuation analysis, and compliance with IFRS, US GAAP, and local standards.
  4. Manage statutory reporting and external audits, coordinating with auditors to deliver statutory financial statements and resolve audit issues proactively.
  5. Drive compliance activities including VAT, withholding tax, and corporate income tax filings, partnering with the regional tax team and supporting transfer pricing documentation.

Skills

Required

  • Bachelor's degree or above in Accounting, Finance, or a related discipline.
  • 10+ overall years of progressive accounting/finance experience, preferably in a multinational or fast-paced environment.
  • 3+ years of proven leadership/people management experience.
  • Strong hands-on experience in general ledger accounting, month-end close, statutory reporting, and audits.
  • Solid technical accounting expertise with working knowledge of IFRS and US GAAP, including ability to interpret complex standards.
  • Working knowledge of local tax and regulatory compliance (e.g., VAT, WHT, corporate income tax, statutory filings) and experience coordinating with tax teams/advisors.
  • Demonstrated ability to build and maintain strong internal controls and documentation to meet corporate and audit requirements.
  • Strong analytical and problem-solving skills, with experience driving process improvements in complex environments.
  • Excellent communication and stakeholder management skills across cross-functional and global teams, including the ability to explain accounting topics to non-finance partners.
  • Proficient in ERP systems (preferably SAP) and advanced Excel skills; fluent in English (additional regional languages are a plus).

Nice to have

  • Professional qualification such as CPA, CA, or equivalent.
  • Prior experience managing various APAC entities and exposure to multi‑jurisdictional statutory reporting and tax.
  • Hands‑on experience with SAP and finance process automation tools or analytics platforms.
  • Demonstrated success in leading transformation or standardization projects, such as process re‑engineering, system rollouts, or control framework enhancements.
  • Experience in the technology, semiconductor, or high‑growth environments where scalability and continuous improvement are critical.
