Manager, Business Management 2 for Northrop Grumman Defense Systems (NGDS) Platform Systems Modernization (PSM) Operating Unit (OU). This role partners with Program Managers to manage all financial aspects, develop strategic and operating plans, and lead a business management team. Responsibilities include proposal development, program planning, financial control, forecasting, EACs/ETCs, financial reporting, and cash modeling. Requires a Bachelor's degree in Accounting/Finance/Business with 8+ years of experience (or Master's with 6 years), strong financial analysis skills, leadership experience, and the ability to obtain a Secret security clearance. Experience with SAP, MS Project, DOD financial models, and Earned Value Management is preferred.

What you'd actually do

  1. Oversee the business management activities within a dynamic portfolio of programs.
  2. Manage and assist with day-to-day operations; coach and mentor the team; help to set and manage priorities.
  3. Provide direct supervision activities, including completion of performance goals and reviews, assigning work scope to employees, reviewing and approving timecards, and ensuring employees operate according to company policies and procedures.
  4. Establish and maintain strong working relationship with Customers. Gain full understanding of the customer’s needs and ensure timely delivery of quality data and reports.
  5. Collaborate with the Program, Project, and Pricing teams to develop proposals, including RFP reviews, pricing strategy recommendations, and contract negotiations.

Skills

Required

  • Bachelor's degree in Accounting/Finance/Business or related discipline with a minimum of 8 years applicable experience or a Master’s degree and 6 years of experience. Four (4) additional years of experience may be considered in lieu of degree
  • Technical skills in budgeting, forecasting, financial analysis, and accounting
  • Proficient in Microsoft Office suite, financial accounting systems
  • Advanced understanding of Microsoft Excel (incl. vlookups, xlookups, sumifs, PowerPivot, charts, formulas, tables, conditional formatting, if/then functions, pivot tables, etc.)
  • Demonstrated ability to lead teams and develop talent, 3+ years of leadership experience
  • Prior experience with program budgeting and forecasting, as well as Annual Operating Plan (AOP) development
  • Demonstrated leadership and interpersonal skills
  • Ability to obtain a Secret-security clearance

Nice to have

  • Experience with SAP, MS Project
  • In-depth knowledge of DOD financial business models.

  • Earned Value Management experience, including Cobra software sy
