What you'd actually do

  1. Draft, review, and negotiate commercial agreements, with a primary focus on GTM/Sales agreements with enterprise technology customers and startups.
  2. Partner closely with Sales and Go-to-Market leadership and teams to support deal velocity and provide practical legal guidance
  3. Help build and maintain our commercial legal infrastructure, including contract templates, playbooks, and process improvements
  4. Manage a team to support enterprise technology and startups segments
  5. Identify and escalate legal risks appropriately while supporting business momentum

Skills

Required

  • JD and active membership in at least one U.S. state bar
  • Experience drafting and negotiating commercial contracts, SaaS agreements, or technology transactions
  • Demonstrated people management experience, including hiring, developing, and leading attorneys or legal professionals
  • Clear written and verbal communication skills, including the ability to translate legal concepts for non-lawyer stakeholders

Nice to have

  • 8+ years of legal experience, with substantial time spent on commercial contracts, SaaS agreements, or technology transactions
  • Active membership in the California state bar
  • Experience leading legal teams through high-growth phases at technology companies
  • Experience navigating multi-stakeholder agreements involving technical and policy considerations
  • Curiosity about AI technology and AI policy, and a commitment to responsible AI development
  • A collaborative, low-ego approach to working with colleagues and external partners
  • A "doer" attitude—willingness to roll up your sleeves and pitch in where needed
  • Comfort in fast-paced environments with shifting priorities, and a willingness to pitch in across what the team needs
